About Y's Kids Club
Join the Club!Y's Kids Club is a safe, fun and happy environment for girls and boys ages 5-12. More than just a child care program, Y's Kids Club focuses on providing a creative and positive environment where children enhance their self-concept and experience personal growth. Y's Kids Club is licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
Philosophy & Goals
Y's Kids Club is based on the philosophy that children love to learn and that learning takes place best experientially. We provide an enriched, accepting environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of children.
Enrollment Info
Enrollment in Y's Kids Club is open throughout the year. Y's Kids Club is open to all families in need of child care; financial assistance is available for families that qualify based on a sliding fee schedule. Before and After School Care
For most working parents, the school day is shorter than the work day - which creates an urgent need for child care before and after school. Y's Kids Club kids are supervised before school, helped onto school buses, and greeted warmly when the school day is over. Y's Kids Club is an ALC (Alternative Learning Center) site for Saint Paul Public Schools. Flexible hours are available - 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.As part of Y's Kids club, your child will have the opportunity to interact in our classroom activity areas (Art Studio, Music & Melodies, Creation Station, Construction Zone, Games Galore, The Playhouse, Imagination Station, The Reading Corner, Home Living) as well as participate in:
- Arts and crafts
- Academic enrichment programming
- Talent shows
- Swimming
- Cooking projects
- Outdoor and indoor play areas
- Computer lab
Summer Program
Y's Kids Club offers all day programming during the summer months. Featuring qualified, certified staff and a child to staff ratio of 15 to 1, Y's Kids Club offers a safe, nurturing environment for kids. Flexible hours are available - 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. During our summer program, breakfast and lunch are served at no additional cost from the start of the summer program until early August (based on the St. Paul Public Schools Summer Lunch schedule). Y's Kids Club is an alternative Summer School site for Saint Paul Public Schools.Programming for your child's intellectual and social development includes:
- Arts and crafts

- Field trips

- Community service projects
- Talent shows
- Self-esteem programming
- Gardening
- Multicultural curriculum
- Health & fitness skills

Broad subject areas covered are Self-esteem/Social Skills Development, Dramatic Arts, Music, Social Studies, Reading/Language Arts, Art, Science, and Large Muscle.School Year Weekly Curriculum Schedule
The current school age core curriculum schedule (which subjects will be taught on which days) for the school year is as follows:- Mondays: Self-esteem/Social Skills Development
Tuesdays: Area Learning Center Enrichment
Wednesdays: Social Studies, Language Arts, Science
Thursdays: Area Learning Center Enrichment
Fridays: Stations (e.g., art, science, cooking, group games)
After our core curriculum hour the children will interact in our classroom activity areas (Art Studio, Music & Melodies, Creation Station, Construction Zone, Games Galore, The Playhouse, Imagination Station, The Reading Corner, Home Living) and participate in group activities.
Summer Weekly Curriculum Schedule
The children are divided by grade level during summer programming. Children who will be entering kindergarten through second grade the following fall are placed in the "Green Group" with two teachers for their morning programming (9:00 - lunch). Children who will be entering grades three through six the following fall are placed in the "Purple Group" with two teachers for their morning programming (9:00 - lunch). The morning schedule for our summer component was as follows:Green Group (Kindergarten through 2nd Grade):

Tuesdays: 9:00-12:00 Field Trip
Wednesdays: 9:00-3:00 Field Trip
Thursdays: 9:00-11:00 Academic Enrichment, 11:00-11:30 Calendar, Story and Sharing time
