Through our programs and services, the YWCA St. Paul:

  • Empowers homeless women with children to achieve economic self-sufficiency and independent living.
  • Combats the effects of poverty on children and youth, and prepares them for responsible adulthood.
  • Prepares girls to become strong, independent women of the 21st century.
  • Offers fitness, recreational and developmental programs and services for children, youth and adults.
  • Provides opportunities for involvement in meaningful volunteer activities that benefit the community, the YWCA and its volunteers.
  • Advocates for social change by addressing sexism, racism and economic inequities.

YWCA St. Paul Mission

The YWCA USA is a women’s membership movement nourished by its roots in the Christian faith and sustained by the richness of many beliefs and values. Strengthened by diversity the YWCA draws together members who strive to create opportunities for women’s growth, leadership and power in order to attain a common vision: peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all people. The YWCA thrusts its collective power toward the elimination of racism wherever it exists.

Location

The YWCA St. Paul is located in the historic and charming Cathedral Hill neighborhood of St. Paul. We are located near the intersection of Selby and Western Avenues.

Directions from the North:
Take 35E south to 94W to the Dale Street exit. Turn left on Dale and continue to Selby Ave. Turn left on Selby. Continue on Selby Ave. for approximately 5-6 blocks. The YWCA Administrative and Program offices are located at 375 Selby Avenue (half a block east of the intersection of Selby and Western Avenues). The YWCA Health and Fitness Center is located just beyond the Administrative offices. Turn into the parking lot of the lefthand side of Selby Ave. (just across from Virginia St.)

Directions from the South:
Take 35E north to the Kellogg Boulevard exit; turn left and go north on Kellogg until you come to John Ireland Boulevard (at the Cathedral). Turn left on John Ireland and proceed for 3 blocks to Selby Ave. Turn right on Selby. The YWCA Health and Fitness Center is located approximately 5 blocks east on Selby Ave. The YWCA Administrative and Program offices are located at 375 Selby Avenue.

YWCA USA
The Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) was established in England in 1855 by Christian women's groups seeking to provide secure housing, learning opportunities and spiritual enrichment to young women of low-economic status who came to the large cities in search of employment. The YWCA USA was founded in 1907, and St. Paul became a charter member that year.

St. Paul Area Chamber of Commerce
The Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce is the bold voice for business in the Saint Paul/East Metro area. The Chamber strives to influence public policy, provide small business resources, create economic development opportunities, and shape the future workforce.
